
The spaghetti dinner will be held on March 25th from 5-8 pm. It is an All You Can Eat event, and will have spaghetti(beef and vegan), sauce, salad, garlic bread, desserts, and an assortment of drinks. It is the only troop fundraiser of the year. There might be a silent auction and a DJ. $20 per person, 5 and under eat free. If you are interested in donating to this event, click here.
Our Winter backpacking trip will be from Saturday, March 4th to Sunday, March 5th. We will meet at the shed at 8:30 am on Saturday and return on Sunday afternoon. Bring a bag lunch with a beverage for Saturday. This will be a dry campout. Scouts and parents should carry at least 3 liters of water. Sturdy hiking boots are required. We will stop for a fast food lunch on our way back. Bring small bills to pay the cooks ($20) and buy lunch ($10) on Sunday. The younger Scouts will hike 3 miles to the campsite and 3 miles out. Older scouts will hike 4 miles in and 3 miles out. Prepare for a low of 10 degrees.
The annual Troop 773 Lock-In is on February 11 at 8:00 PM. There will be pizza, snacks, games, and other fun activities. Bring a sleeping bag and pad. If your Scout plans to attend Scout Sunday they need to bring their Class A uniform to wear during the Sunday Church Service (10:00 AM).

BSA Leadership training day on March 11. This event is open to all Scouts who have earned First Class Rank or higher. We will use the Introduction to Leadership Skills Program provided by BSA. Here is a link to the program introduction to leadership skills.
Another council offers a Virtual Merit Badge College with a $20 registration fee. Badges offered are Fish & Wildlife, Geology, Reptile & Amphibian Study, Salesmanship, Astronomy, Citizen in the Nation, Citizen in the World, Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Science, and First Aid. It will be on February 25 and will have a morning session from 9 am – 12 pm and an afternoon session from 1-4 pm. Sign-up is on the troop email.

On February 14, 21, and 28, we will be doing the Camping Merit Badget at the troop meetings. Attendance at all 3 meetings PLUS 20 nights of camping PLUS cooking on a hike (on a separate camp out to the hike cooking for Cooking Merit Badge) are needed to meet the requirements of this merit badge.

Rise Against Hunger will occur on February 11 and February 12, and Scouts will be measuring, weighing, packaging, and stacking meals. Scout Sunday will begin at 10 am on February 12 and is a special service where we recognize the special relationship we have with PUMC. Scouts should wear their Class A uniform. Families are encouraged to attend. Eligible for Scout and SSL service hours.

The Akela Chess Tournament will be from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm on February 11.
Chess Merit Badge session will be from 4pm to 8pm on the same day.

The Astronomy Merit Badge class will be on February 4. Timing will firm up one week before the event (as to whether we start at 7, 7:30, or 8 pm). The cost is $10 per scout cash upon arrival. See the troop email for more details.

We will be holding our January 31 Troop Meeting at a local skydiving facility. The cost is $50 per scout. Any parent who wishes to participate in the skydiving can do so for $50 but will also need non-flying parent chaperones. There is no charge for non-flying parents. Dinner and snacks will be included for all Scouts and parents. The sign-up closes 8 days before the event. Waiver and address in troop email.
